The Store
2025 marks the start of a new chapter for Penney & Company, the interiors shop. This year, I am excited to broaden the focus of my business to include more interior design projects, working closely with clients to make their homes come to life. As a result, the shop will shift to become more as well. No longer will I approach the store solely as a retail shop, but as a design studio where I bring together all I that I offer from decorating services to items for your home. Most know that my shop is a mix of vintage treasures, new custom pieces and accessories that are ready to go, plus clothing and gifts. Many people also know that it takes a great deal of time to source these items, to fix them up, take them off to be reupholstered and to set up the shop in a way that is easy for customers to explore and inspiring for them to engage with. Add these responsibilities to increased client design projects and well, something’s gotta give. For this reason, Penney & Company’s shop / studio space will now have different hours as I try to balance what it is I offer to my clients and customers. Some days I will be busy working for clients on their homes. Some days I’ll be tracking down the perfect antique chair, new fabric and taking it to be recovered so it is just perfect. Some days I’ll be paining and old chest or washing up a stack of old china for the shelves. And some days I’ll be here, serving customers in the shop who want to browse and see what’s new. Hopefully all of these things will work together to bring everyone the best of what I have to offer. It may take some time to adjust to the notion of my business as a design service as well as a shop and showroom for special items you can’t find elsewhere, but I believe it is the right path forward for the times we are living in.
