April 8, 2019Hello? Are you there?
This is a bit of a “test blog”, as it’s been a loooong time since I’ve blogged and I’m not even sure I know how anymore. Not that the tech part was every my thing. But now, many years later, there’s every chance this will not post. Or will short circuit. Or flop somehow or other. So, yes, it’s very much a test.
A blog is supposed to tell you something about the writer or what he or she is up to, so I will say that today our family had a lovely time travelling to Belleville to see Sara’s grandad who turned 94 today! He is an example of a life well-lived and he was surrounded by family who cares deeply for him on his special day. We piled into our mini van (Sharon Lois & Bram cranked) and travelled to and from Sara’s hometown happily with 3 kids under 6 strapped in. So far our kids are pretty good travellers on trips like this and I am appreciating that for sure.
Now all three girls are tucked snuggly in bed and I’m attempting to write my first blog in years and then we might watch an episode of SNL that we PVR’d. It’s not always exciting around here, but it’s home and we love it.
So there’s the blog for you! Fingers crossed when I push the buttons to publish it works and then I can get on with telling you more as time goes on.
In the mean time, I’ll add a little photo for something pretty, cause, let’s be honest, that’s important around here!
This is a shot from Pinterest of the old Glanmore House in Belleville. I’ve gone by it many times visiting Belleville and only recently got to tour it. It is an amazingly well-kept archive of high Victoriana and worth a visit!
P.S. Happy 94th Birthday Grandad!

It was great to read your test blog this evening! Enjoyed your description of the family birthday outing with your girls and the photo of the beautiful old house in Belleville!
Looking forward to future blog posts!
Have a great evening !! Blog #1 well done and here’s hoping to many more. You have such a great eye for beauty in all things surrounding us. I look forward to seeing what you spy next. Thank you
Hi Michael!
US fan here. I loved your blog posts and have missed them but understood you have a very busy work life and home life. Hope to hear from you more often.
Pleased you are blogging again! My favourite ones revolved around your thrifting/antiquing adventures and your trips to Maine. I’m sure whatever you choose to write about will be of interest. Happy Spring!
